Clinical Evaluation of Patients with hemoptysis


Abstract
Hemoptysis is one of the most common symptoms in pulmonology filed, Hemoptysis is caused by various lung diseases over one hundred. To know the etiology and site of hemoptysis is important in the evaluation of hemoptysis.
Author evaluated 36 cases(male 24 cases, female 12 cases) of pulmonary tuberculosis who had hemoptysis as a chief complaint.
@ES The results were summarized as follows:
@EN 1) Amount of hemoptysis was increasing according to severity of pulmonary tuberculosis
2) Massive hemoptysis was more prevalent in ptatients who had cavitary lesion in the lung.
3) There was no relationship between sputum smear positive acid fast bacilli and amount of hemoptysis.
4) Moderate or massive hemoptysis was more frequent in recurrence tuberculosis compared with primary tuberculosis.
5) There was no relationship between distribution of tuberculous lesions in the lung and amount of hemoptysis.
